If you are having important emails sent to your spam folder you can take steps to prevent this by setting up a filter in Gmail. Here are steps on how to do that.
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- Click the drop down arrow on the right side of the search bar at the top of the page.
- There will be several boxes here you can enter text in. Entering a name in the “From” line will filter messages from a specific person, preventing them from being sent to spam. For example “john@examplewebsite.com” as shown in the picture below.
- Click “Create filter with this search” at the bottom right of the dropdown box.
- On the next page click the checkbox titled “Never send it to Spam.”
- Click the blue “Create filter” button and you will receive a message saying “Your filter was created.” at the top of the screen. Messages with the keywords you specified should no longer be labeled as Spam.
